Before your provisional licence is valid you must first pass Compulsory Basic Training (CBT). CBT involves three stages: firstly, you will be taught theory in our classroom. Secondly, we take you out to Manby Airfield for the off-road element. Then finally, when it is safe to do so, we will take you out on the road.
To undertake CBT you must be at least 16 years old. Once you obtain your CBT certificate of completion you may ride a machine up to 50cc on the road as a learner (with L-Plates), if you are 16 years of age, or a machine up to 125cc if you are 17 years or over.
Please note that if you obtained your full car licence before 1st February 2001, you are entitled to ride a machine up to 50cc without L-Plates.
